Chapter Establishes Scholarship at College

The CVCC Foundation, Inc., recently received a donation from the Carolinas Chapter of 7x24 Exchange International to establish a scholarship at Catawba Valley Community College. The scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in the college’s School of Business, Industry & Technology.

Thomas Jacobik, President of the Carolinas Chapter of 7x24 Exchange and operations manager for Apple’s new data center, presented the check to CVCC President Garrett D. Hinshaw on behalf of the group.
The Carolinas Chapter also funded scholarships at Wilson Community College in Wilson and Trident Community College in Charleston, S.C.

SOUTH CAROLINA INTRODUCTORY MEETING
July 28, 2011 - USS YorkTown
The 7x24 Exchange Carolinas Chapter hosted its first South Carolina meeting aboard the USS Yorktown in July 2011. This exciting event, an introduction of the organization and chapter to the area, was attended by over 90 end users, consultants and vendors.
Jeff Farlow, Executive Director of the Chapter, opened the meeting with a summary of our organization, followed by the Chapter President, Tom Jacobik, Operations Manager for Apple, who discussed the mission and goals for the organization.
Chris Johnston, Critical Facilities Chief Engineer for Syska Hennessy, gave an informative and valuable presentation on Data Center Reliable Operations and Optimization.

We are anticipating an increase of South Carolina involvement in the 7x24 Exchange Carolinas Chapter. Plans are already underway for an annual Chapter meeting in S.C.
