A message from James Faccone, 7x24 Carolinas Executive Vice President

    --

2019 marked our Chapter's 10th anniversary, and the Summer Meeting added another great event to our success story. Our sponsors, speakers, and all who attended deserve a very warm thank you from the Board.

235 participants hailing from the Carolinas and Atlanta area were treated to several exciting speakers. The WiMCO event speaker, Dr. Dawn Chanland from Queens University, provided details on career development and how to confidently approach the industries challenges. Our keynote presenter, Sara Ross, touched on the importance of being authentic to yourself and using the power of the mind to manage through difficult situations while maintaining excellent performance. Her presentation included several videos that drew out great laughs from us all. Check out the It's Not About the Nail video here.

The conference also included Mission Critical discussions, led by Matt Stansberry of Uptime Institute, highlighting the effects of outages and other data center industry trends. A panel discussion covered a broad spectrum of topics connecting many industries and technologies. Highlights included how labor, regulation, and the changing security demands for data affect our industry.

The event was attended by several new to our industry interns and first-timers, which allowed them to network and benefit from the considerable talents of all participants.

Closing remarks noted several important upcoming events such as the Technical Summit on October 15th and the first ever industry event International Data Center Day to be held on October 29, 2019.

Stay tuned for upcoming changes to the Chapter website, the schedule for the year 2020 events, and other important work by the chapter board to ensure another ten years of chapter success.
