Thank you to the 170 people who attended our 2022 Summer Meeting in Asheville, NC. This meeting marked our largest chapter meeting since the pandemic. This meeting marked our largest chapter meeting since the pandemic. We wish to thank the founding members, board members, committee members, and all participants who supported us during our event in Raleigh, Balancing Performance and Risk.

Our event took on a different agenda this season, and we had overwhelming positive feedback.  We began Thursday with an expo, Salon C and D had 11 expo tables, the pre-function space had 7 sponsor tables available all day during our sessions.

At 2 p.m. we had a breakout session, Integrating Risk Mitigation into Sustainable Operational Savings led by Jeffrey Goetz, PE, CEM, LEED AP, Senior Director of Engineering at Hubbell Electrical Solutions.  Simultaneous to the previous discussion we had a session on Risk Mitigation, led by John Crews, Critical Facilities Manager at T5 Data Center.

On Thursday afternoon, the well attended WiMCO panel discussion, lead by Jane Hsieh, Senior Director of Sales with Aligned was timely discussion, Perspectives in Mission Critical Operations- Reflections on Being. Mentee or Mentor.   Jane was joined by Heather Sheriff and Ralph Nee from Fidelity, as well as Erica Chariker and John Crews from T5 Data Centers.   Stepping away from that hour with a power within us to find our next generation of data center professionals.

The Keynote Speaker for Friday morning was, Stan Gibson, the founder of OxygenPlus, an organizations designed to develop leaders and teams that impact their homes and workplaces.  Stan inspired leaders of every generation with tremendous passion for success by incredibles stories and many tangible resources.

Lastly, we heard from Scott Millar, President of Economic Development Corporation for Catawba County, NC.   Scott opened the discussion about the development of data centers throughout North Carolina.  After he concluded we had an open forum discussion on the topic, both questions and answers were heard from different vendors, consultants and data center professionals on infrastructure and available resources in North Carolina for the future of Data Center development in the state.

We are grateful for our sponsors who made our Winter Meeting possible. Thank you to all who attended. We send out a special thank you to our programs committee - Chad Martin, Amy Landis, Ben Rojahn and Ryan Daniels. Thank you to Vali Sorell for leading our chapter meeting.
